Keep in mind that “nonprofit” and “tax-exempt” are not synonymous.
NASNIcares is a State of PA Nonprofit and does not have 501c3 status. PA is one of a small number of states that permit formation of a standalone Nonprofit LLC. You must contribute to a qualified tax-exempt organization (501c3) for donations to be tax deductible.
NASNIcares is looking for a fiscal sponsor. A fiscal sponsor is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that accepts grants and donations on behalf of a project, can provide administrative support services, and provides oversight to ensure that the sponsored project spends charitable donations and grants in compliance with the law.
